Writing T3 W6

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to show you my Speech. For this I had to write about no poverty.

Speech

You will be horrified to hear that 836 million people still live in extreme poverty. The international poverty gap in 2013 was 160.85 Billion and In New Zealand nearly one in three children live below the poverty line. Two thirds of the population live on less than $10 a day and every day 42000 people evacuate their homes due to conflict. About one and five people are Live on less than $1.25 per day.

People are losing homes and can't buy things because they have no money. And they can't get any jobs because they couldn't afford school when they were kids so they have no qualifications.

The challenge is immense because we need to work through to get that 836 to a 0. We will have to work through everyone that is poor to become not poor. I think that if people are still being reduced to poverty they will get despite and doing unethical things to get money back.

The problem is that with no money people can't afford to buy stuff from shops, which means shops start to lose money. Also if you have no money you can't go to school, high school and university. And then the schools start to lose money.

But the United Nations is trying to fix this problem with some goals set for 2030. They want to eradicate all extreme poverty, half the people living in poverty and all men, women and children have equal rights to economic resources. Some targets that the United Nations has set for us are: by 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere, currently measured as people living on less than $1.25 a day and by 2030, reduce at least by half the proportion of men, women and children of all ages living in poverty in all its dimensions.

We need to change this by. Giving to the poor. Puting old clothes in the clothing bin. And donating to charities. You don't need to donate much sometimes the little things can help lots.

I want everyone to help the United Nations. And join me to help eradicate all cases of extreme poverty. You don't have to do much to make a difference in the world.

We aim to end poverty in the near future. If we get rid of poverty then more people will be able to go to schools, buy stuff and live longer because they will be able to afford hospitals.

We must act together to eradicate all cases of extreme poverty. And end world hunger in the process because people will be able to afford food.

Thank you for listening to my Speech. I hope that you learnt something new by listening to my speech. And I hope you could join me and many others fighting poverty.

Writing T3 W5

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are all doing well. Today I am going to show you my favourite paragraph of my speech. For my speech I had to do it on poverty using a guide of what order my speech should be. Hard hitting stats, damage caused, challenge, specify problem, solution, change, call to action, aims, act together and big Finnish.

I think that if poverty keeps on rising people will get desperate and do unethical things. If this continues I think that crime rates will skyrocket. And we can't just get rid of the poor people. We have to make the poor people not poor. To help with this we could donate to charities and support local companies. With Covid 19 lots of people are losing there jobs and losing money. To help this you can encourage people to start there own business and donate to help them start anew.

Writing T3 W2

Hello and welcome back to my blog. I hope you are all doing well. Today I hope you will enjoy
reading my Hansel and Gretel story. Here it is

On a hill sat a house with an evil mother and an evil dad.
“We are poor what should we do” said the dad
“Kick out the children” said the mum
“Oh why didn't I think of that” said the dad
“Oh Hansel” said the mum
“Alright Hansel you must go far away with your sister or else we will eat you alive” said the dad
20 Minutes later
“Hansel I’m scared there is nothing here why don't we just go back home” whispered Gretel
“Don't worry Gretel we will find it soon” Hansel replied camley even though deep down he knew that they would find nothing and die alone in the woods.
The forest reminded Hansel about a degenerate scisioty there was something missing but he did not know what. Gretel on the other hand reminded her about the lingering death and hatred. The forest seemed to go on forever. Hansel felt depressed and the branches of the trees reminded him of his parents watching over him, making sure they go far far away. Gretel felt lonely like she had no purpose; she was between death and life but she slowly headed over to death as her sanity faded away. For both of them life faded till the only thing they saw was black. They both felt dead inside. But suddenly the smell of happiness and joy it smelt like fresh sweet flowers on a summer morning. There depression was no longer but now happiness. There heads are no longer filled with dark; now light. The smell of joy lingered over them. Suddenly there was light. For Hansel it felt like God was shining light on them. For Gretel though it felt like her father cooking a roast lamb on the fire.
“Hansel, Hansel th- that thing you were talking about was a giant gingerbread house” explained Gretel
”Ye- yes” mumbled Hansel in shoke, he did not know that this would be in the woods, they were saved.
The light emerged itself to be a sugar coated gingerbread house. The roof crumbled with gingerbread, a dangerously unstable chimney, weird distorted windows and a door with a fragmented door knob. Hansel wanted to run over but it was the sweets that lured him over. Gretel was already over at the house and she knew that she should not touch the house; it looked so sweet. All of a sudden an old woman came out. Her posture was curved like a bridge; her teeth were as yellow as the sun itself; she looked happy and welcoming. “Come over here children the best lollies are inside” The women had an old croaky voice and her hair was as white as snow. Hansel and Gretal walked into the house. Every second in a minute Hansel was fed. Every second in an hour Gretel was put to work. Hansel ate delicious donuts, great gingerbread and huge ham. Till Hansel was as wide as a whale. Hansel and Gretel were deeply depressed but Hansel had a plan.
“Excuse me are you cathlic ” said Hansel
“Well no, why is that” said the witch
There was a knock on the door, “come in” said the witch and she got a big surprise.
“Nobody expects the spanish inquisition” said the spanish inquisition
“You are trying to kill our greatest members Hansel and Gretel are the leaders of the spanish inquisition” said the spanish inquisition
“Now now kids what do we do with witches” said the spanish inquisition
“BURN THEM” said Hansel and Gretel at the same time
“Oh god no please not the steak” replied the witch
The spanish inquisition, Hansel and Gretel pick up the witch and take her outside to the local Salem witch trial pole and tie her to it. The spanish inquisition pulled out some matches and began to burn the witch.
“Oh god please no no i'm burning ahhh” said the witch
“Die you damn dirty witch” said Hansel
And Then Hansel and Gretel lived happily ever after with there new parents the spanish inquisition.
THE END

Reading T3 W2

Hello and welcome back to my blog I hope you are all doing well. Today I will talk to you about my Reading create task for Term 3 Week 2. First we had to find positive and negative words in a slideshow. Next we did a book review and we got to choose the book I chose WaterShip Down.
If you read my blog on WaterShip down here is an update on the book. I stopped reading for a few months but I came back to the book and restarted this year and I have 150 pages left.
Here is my slide show

Here is my review

Watership down is a book like no other

The story is a roller coaster of emotions and excitement
The story draws you in and won't let you go till the very end
It is refreshing to see a children's book that dives into more adult Oriented themes
Also the warren* Efrafra has concentration camp properties
Which makes sense because it was based on Riched Adem experience with WW2
It has a strong cast of characters and character development
You can see Bigwig turn from a rebel to a loyal member of the Owsla**
You can also see captain Holy into someone trying to stop them also to a loyal member of the Owsla**
It also has big plot twist that I never saw coming and intense parts that literally had me on the edge of my seat. Watership down is one of the best books ever written and my favorite book ever after I have read watership down I am excited to read Riched Adems other novel Plague Dogs
Of course with a hit comes TV and Movies here are some other pieces of media which has to do with watership down
The Original Book
The Netflix Mini Series
The 1999 TV Show
The 1978 Film
(FUN FACT) a mistake that the UK rating system did was give the watership down 1978 film a U rating which means for all ages where it should have got an PG rating or PG - 13 and in this mistake my Mum watched the film when she was under 5 years old
Also there are some other watership down books oriented for children under 5 years of age such as
Pipkins rainbow
And another book which I can't find but I know existed and it has got to do with learning numbers with the rabbit Fiver
*Warren a group of holes like a small rabbit nation
**Owsla are the Warren police

Have you ever read WaterShip Down
