                                                         front                                 back
To win it peer mediators / teachers have to give you a card when they see you being kind around the school. Then at a assembly the get a Jar and pull one out from it If it has your name on it you win a t shirt. Also you can have more cards then one. Do you think you could win one of the t shirts?

Banqer

Hello and welcome back to my blog. Today I want to talk about banqer, banqer is a website that the Year 7 and Year 8 use to teach them a bit about banking. In banqer you get paid 150 every week Just for being in the Kaupeka hub. At the moment we can buy scooters, bikes and cars, bikes and scooters lower the public transport fee and cars remove it all together but the better the car is more expensive the car will be but better the car then you can loan it out to people and earn a bunch of money. There is also a banqer leader board saying which person in the Kaupeka hub has the highest amount of money. do you think you would enjoy banqer?

Swimming Sports

Hello and welcome back to my blog today I will be talking about swimming sports. It took place at Jellie Park around mid February. I competed in Year 7 boys backstroke 25 meters and boys Year 7 freestyle 25 meters on backstroke. I came 4th out of 5 and on freestyle. I came last out of 4 it was a lot of fun even though I was not the best. The people who won 50 meter (anything) will go to zones unfortunately I did not make it to zones. I enjoyed it because I tried my best and it was a lot of fun although it took ages to get to your turn. I cant wait for next year! If you did swimming sports what place did you come.

Sir Edmund Hillary

Sir Edmund Hillary was born on 20 July 1919 in Auckland around one year after ww1 stopped, also known as arm asset day. He had a brother a sister and a mum and a dad. He went to the University of Auckland and spent two years there. He also went to Auckland grammar school and Tuakau Primary School. After that he got a Job as a beekeeper for 7 years. Sir Edmund hillary married Mary Rose in 1953. Mary rose died in 1975 in a plane crash while landing in the Himalayas.  He then went on to marry June Mulgrew in 1989.

In 1939 he climbed his first mountain Mt Olivier. Then in 1947 he climbed Mt Cook the highest mountain in nz. And then he climbed Mt Everest the highest mountain in the world on the 29 of May 1953. In 1961 sir edmund hillary attempted to climb Mt Makalu without oxygen. In 1953 he took an expedition to the south pole. They were the first to do so overland since Scott in 1912, and the first to reach it in motor vehicles. In Between the 1950 and 1960 he climbed more than ten mountains in the himalayas he went to Switzerland to climb in the alps. He also went to the north pole with neil armstrong in 1958.

In 1954 his son was born and in 1955 his daughter was born and last but not least his 2nd daughter was born in 1959. Their names were Sarah Hillary, Peter Hillary and Belinda Hillary. In 1990 Sir Edmund Hillary's son climbed Mt Everest. Sadly, Sir Edmund Hillary's second daughter Belinda Hillary died age 26 on 31 May 1975 in a plane crash.

In 1953 he was knighted by the queen so he became Sir Edmund Hillary.  In 2007 he flew to Antarctica and in 2008 he tragically died aged 88. And he is now on the 5 dollar note (unless your not nz). Fun fact my great great aunty Mary O’connell was the first New zealander to met Sir Edmund Hillary at base camp after he climbed Mt Everest when she was working as a nurse in Nepal and my grandad has a photo of Mary with Sir Edmund Hillary and Sir John hunt in 1953.
