WW2 Facts

Hello and welcome to my blog. It has been a long time since I have blogged but I think you know why that is. Well today I am going to write a blog on some history some of you may not know that I like history as much as I do but that is because at my school we don't do as much history as other subjects like reading, writing or math but that doesn't say we don't do history. So because there isn't much stuff to learn around the house I decided to write a paragraph on some of my knowledge and my new knowledge that I have now learnt from writing about this so here it is.

WW2 started on 1st of September 1939 and ended on the 2nd of September 1945 meaning it lasted 6 years and 1 day. There were hundreds of battles, too many to count so here are some of the more well known ones, their casualties for each side, who won the battles and when they took place. D day, D day took place on Omaha beach on June 6th 1944, there were 4000 - 9000 Axis deaths and 4413 Allied deaths and the Allied won. Battle of Crete, the battle of Crete took place at the Greek Island of Crete more than 1700 British and commonwealth lost their lives at the battle and 15000 were captured, 671 New Zealanders died and 2180 were taken prisoner, for the Germans 6000 were killed/wounded and the Germans one the battle of Crete.
Have you been writing something for school work at your house lately?

That's fantastic that you enjoy learning about history, there is a lot to research about WW2. It's crazy that WW2 lasted for 6 years. I have been spending some of my time today reading and commenting on blog posts. I have enjoyed reading about what everyone has been up to in the last week!

Do you think you might write some more history based blog posts? If so, what will they be about? I look forward to reading them.

PS - To prevent your writing from going right across the page when you publish your post, make sure you highlight all of the text and click on the remove formatting button (it looks like a T with a small red x) in the tool bar.
